Paper Mahjong

Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 July 2026

Paper Mahjong has no accounts, no logins, and no servers of its own. The game plays fully offline. This policy explains the small amount of data that is involved anyway, and what you can do about it.

What stays on your device

Your progress, settings, and word collection never leave your phone. There is no sign-up, and we never ask for your name, email, phone number, or contacts. Delete the app and that data is gone with it.

Purchases

Paper Mahjong Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the advanced study tracks. The payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google - we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is valid, which means it receives an anonymous identifier and your receipt from the app store. That is used only to confirm what you own, so you can restore your purchase on a new device.

Ads

The only ads in Paper Mahjong are rewarded videos you choose to watch to refill hints or shuffles. There are no banners, no pop-ups, and nothing that interrupts a game. If you never tap "watch a video", you will never see an ad.

Those videos are served by Google AdMob. To show them, AdMob collects device and app information, including your device's advertising identifier, and may use it to measure and personalise advertising. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

On iOS, the first time you choose to watch a video the system asks whether Paper Mahjong may track your activity across other apps and websites. This is Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, ads still work - they are simply not personalised, and your advertising identifier is not used to track you. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is used in aggregate - app opens, levels finished, which settings people change - so we can fix problems and improve it. It collects anonymous app and device information, including a random app-instance identifier and a coarse region derived from your IP address. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we never sell it. See Google's privacy policy.

Children

Paper Mahjong is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. There is no chat, no social feed, no user profiles, and no way for players to contact one another.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the app's release notes.
